Fishing report 9-15 Feb

Had the pleasure of fishing with Dwight and George from Florida on okeechobee on about the most ideal conditions with highs close to 80 and light winds. For Dwight, okeechobee was a bucket list that needed to get checked off. We started off with shiners and caught a mix bag of bass, catfish, and bowfin before switching to lures. After an hour or so, Dwight scored his new personal best largemouth to cap off an awesome day in the water.

For the next three days, I was stuck in a room sick and feeling terrible. I have no idea what I caught, but it sucked!

We had one day of crappy weather during this week, knocking the water temps down by over 10 degrees overnight.  Florida bass don’t like cold weather/fronts. It made for a tough day after the storm. Good news though, the water temps are rising rapidly and the fish are biting again.

This coming week, I’m going to fish the Everglades for bass and lake Osborne for largemouth and peacock bass.  Should be a blast…
