Fishing report 24 Feb-2 Mar
Ran into a big one today on kenansville!!! More on that later.
I started out the week by hitting lake ida for some solo peacock bass action and tangled with some on light line and artificials. I also caught a couple big oscars an
d lost a big momma clown knifefish. I found out the hard way that they can swim backwards when your try to net them…
I fished and visited with my sister and brother-in-law down here from Delaware. We had a great time cruising around okeechobee and kenansville, catching a few fish along the way.
I had a good time on a short trip fishing with Gary, Judy, and Sharon from Tennessee on okeechobee. We started out fishing for crappie, who decided to go AWOL, switched over to bass and caught a few along with a bowfin and mr catfish. It was a truly beautiful day on the water that we shared with some monster gators we spotted.
Today, I had a trip to kenansville with Keith and Alicia from West Virginia that went well, very well. Keith caught a kenansville monster on a jig that went 8.14 and we mixed some more on worms and top waters. I’ve got two more days with these guys on the stickmarsh and lake ida to tangle with some giants and exotics!
