Well, I’ve been bouncing between trips to Okeechobee for bass and/or crappie and the headwatersto hunt for giant bass. With the cold weather and north winds, we’ve had some difficult conditions, but have been able to still find some good to greats!

As for the report, the crappie are chomping in Okeechobee on minnows fished with bream busters. The bass fishing on Okeechobee has been inconsistent. One day it’s phenomenal and the next, it’s a grind. I’ve had my best days fishing the north shore with chatterbaits, speedworms, and dragging magnum finesse worms around spawning flats.

Headwaters has been putting out giant fish this week on shiners with many over 10lbs caught and one over 13. Lure fishing was more challenging with the cold and wind. Nevertheless, some bigs were captured. A week or so ago, the chatterbait bite was hot. The last few days, we’ve had to slow down to get bit by dragging plastics and jigs in and around spawning areas.

With the forecasted weather of rising temps, the fishing should just get better!  Give me a shout, if you want to put a beat down on some south Florida monsters…
